Generator - Basco

Riding the wave of the Nordic folk revival, which has now been going strong for over a decade, Basco continues to evolve and reinvent itself. Their music is complex and varied: hard-hitting, melancholic and possessing a captivating clarity and depth. As part of a wider movement that is doing for Nordic music what Miles Davis and his contemporaries did for jazz in the 1950s, and what Piazzolla and his contemporaries did for Argentine music in the 1970s, Basco loves to mine the gold within the traditions they grew up with, to find the raw materials for their next project, whether it be a new album, a series of concerts in collaboration with the DR Big Band, or retelling old Nordic and Anglo-Celtic stories together with the Danish/Norwegian singer Jullie Hjetland.
