At Beddingen stands an anchor, reminiscent of the fact that the largest workplace at the port, and indeed in the whole of Ringkøbing in the years 1958 to 1997, was Nordsøværftet.
When the yard went bankrupt and the yard site was cleared, the anchor appeared. The anchor had been used for launches and deliveries of ships from the shipyard, and wooden planks of azobé wood were used in the slipway for launches.
In 2004, the anchor on the tree was erected at the old slipway by employees at Nordværftet and W. Meinertz Olesen at the Common Club. Every year at the end of August, a gathering is held at the anchor and an anchormaster is appointed.
